As always, we are looking for those players that will help save you money at each position while providing you with some upside. Based on the projections from expert sites and our analysis of a players match listed this week on the Salary Cap Crusher numbers here are some good buys.
Top Quarterback Value Plays
Cam Newton – Great matchup this week against a weak Colts defense, Newton has one of the best CPP for a QB this week at $331 on DraftKings and $390 on FanDuel which is very good as well.
Russell Wilson – With a CPP of $316 Russell had the lowest CPP for QB’s based on an average projection of just 17 fantasy points.
Joe Flacco $5,500 – Not a favorite among fantasy football players, but should have to throw a lot against the chargers who have been getting beat in the secondary. At a price of $5,500 on DraftKings, Flaccos value is great and will allow you to fit a number of other studs in your lineup. Flacco’s average projection is 18 fantasy points, but I can see him breaking 20 FPTS this week.
Mathew Stafford $5,800 – This is one on my contrarian plays in GPP tournaments this week. Stafford has fell out of favor this yea along with Calvin Johnson, but has put 2 good weeks together lately and now has a great matchup against a Kansas City defense that gives up the most fantasy points to wide receivers.
Top Running Back Value Plays
Todd Gurley – Every DFS play should be on Gurley this week on both DraftKings and FanDuel. His DrafKings Salary is just $6,300 with an average projection of 16 points giving him a $417 cost per point providing great value. Playing the 49ers this week and looking at the Vegas lines, Gurley should have a very good day. Check out his FanDuel salary.
Jonathan Stewart $4,100 – The experts have him at just 9 fpts this week, but with that weak colts run defense I can see him blowing that away and being a great value even if its just for a FLEX option on DraftKings this week. Based on the 9 point projection his CPP is $460.
Sneaky GPP Plays
Khiry Robinson – Playing the Giants this week and scoring decent fantasy points for a guy in a three way time share, Khiry provides a sneaky low cost option to get other studs like Julio Jones and Gronk into your lineup.
Anton Andrews $3,300 – At just 5 points projected, his own coach said he deserves more touches this week which should help lower his $429 CPP this week on DraftKings.
Top Wide Receiver Value Plays
Calvin Johnson – Playing the worst fantasy D against WR’s, Johnson should be lightly used giving you an edge in your GPP tournaments this week. His number based on his salary of $7,900 and his projection of just 10 points is expensive, but if you are like me and think he can score 15 fpts, you will definitely consider him a better value.
Brandon Cooks – Cooks has been kind of a let down this year not really having a break out game, but he has a lot of good matchups. This week against the Giants the experts project 10 fpts for him, which is in line with what he usually scores. If he can score fantasy owners a TD this week I can see his $552 CPP dropping to $337 based on his $5,400 DraftKings salary. This is the type of upside we find for our members of Salary Cap Crusher.
Top Tight End Value Plays
Tyler Eifert – Based on his projection Eifert is not a value you play, but the Steelers have been the worst defense at covering the TE, just see what Gates and Gronk did to them. Expert Eifert to be his 10pts projection making him a great value on DraftKings at his $5,300 salary.
Delanie Walker $4,100 – Houston has been getting beat up the last few weeks. This is a great matchup for Walker. If he can find the endzone this week, he will provide a great value to DFS players who drafted him.
Top Defense Value Plays
Rams – A great matchup against the 49ers who may be without Carlos Hyde this week. At just 10 fpts they provide the best CPP for a defense at $321 and their $3,200 Salary on DraftKings for week 8.
Panthers – Andrew Luck has been very unlucky this season. Fantasy defenses have been feasting on the Colts this year and the Pathers secondary has actually been playing very week against fantasy WR’s this year.
