News just broke that Miami Dolphins WR Chad Johnson was arrested on domestic violence charges involving his new wife, reality TV star, Evelyn Lozada.

Pro Football Talks reported:

According to Davie (Fla.) Police Department captain Dale Engle, Johnson was arrested Saturday night on domestic violence charges, per the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.

According to the report, Johnson was arrested after an incident involving his new wife (hey were married on July 4)Evelyn Lozada. He allegedly head-butted her during an argument in his car.  T.

When police arrived at the scene, Lozada had lacerations on her forehead.

TMZ reports that “Lozada has been at the hospital for several hours and her injury will require stitches.”

Miami Dolphin journalist, Ben Volin tweeted that the altercation started over receipts for condoms.

Likewise, The Palm Beach Report published that Basketball Wives star did in fact find a receipt for condoms in the car as the couple drove home from dinner. The site reports:

According to Engle, Johnson and his wife, Evelyn Lozada, were driving to their home in Davie after dinner Saturday night when Lozada found a receipt for a box of condoms in the car, sparking an argument that got “heated.”

When they arrived at their home, the argument “escalated quite a bit,” Engle said, and Johnson and Lozada butted heads, giving Lozada a laceration on her forehead. Lozada told police that Johnson purposely head-butted her, while Johnson told police it was accidental.

Chad is reportedly still being held in custody and is waiting to be seen by a judge. Ben Violin tweets:

In an odd coincidence, Chad Johnson seemed to predict his arrest when said in the 1st episode of HBO’s Hard Knocks series (just last week), which is following the Dolphins this year,  “Hey Stu, I promise I’m getting arrested while we’re off.”

Johnson signed with the Dolphins in June, four days after he was released by New England. A six-time Pro Bowl receiver with Cincinnati, he caught only 15 passes in 15 games for the Patriots last year after they acquired him in a trade for a pair of draft picks

On Friday night in the Dolphins’ 20-7 loss to Tampa Bay in the exhibition opener, Johnson let the only pass thrown to him slip through his hands.

Johnson and Lozada, married on July 4, were prominent in the recent first episode of HBO’s “Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the Miami Dolphins.”

Lozada used to be the fiancee of NBA player Antoine Walker.

Revis Signs New Deal

Latest NFL News and Commentary

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. — After a five-week holdout, Darrelle Revis returned to the New York Jets Monday and was greeted  by his teammates.

After reconnecting with his teammates, Revis repaired to an upstairs board room, where he was to sign his four-year, $46 million contract, culminating a seven-month odyssey that began when the Jets told Revis after the season they wanted to re-work his contract.

Just like that, the black cloud over the Jets was gone. Now they can get on with the business of trying to reach the Super Bowl.

When Did Tony Dungy Become Oprah?

Latest NFL News and Commentary

All week long we have been hearing about Tony Dungy criticizing Rex Ryan for cursing (yes cursing, NOT cussing) so much during training camp as shown on the HBO show, Hard Knocks.  Rex, I feel did the right thing and simply replied, he respects Tony, but said, just because you cuss, doesn’t make you a bad person, and just because a person doesn’t cuss, doesn’t mean they are a good person.

I would have left it at that and stop acknowledging anymore of the man’s comments, but apparently the media must keep going back to Tony and Rex for more to build up some kind of drama here.

Well now apparently Rex called Tony to talk about it (What the F#@k, bet Tony doesn’t like that I said that!)  So now Rex explained his side that that is who he is oh and Tony talked to people about Rex and they said good things about Rex to Tony…. Well Im so happy to hear that, like we really needed Tony Dungy to like Rex.

Well it gets better.  Rex then invites Tony out to see the training camp.  Geez is Tony that desperate since leaving football that this is how he stays in the public eye or did he suddenly become Oprah and we have to stay in his good graces?  Is this still the tough sport of football we are talking about here or a soap opera.

Will Tony ever talk to Rex again, or will Rex gain Tony’s approval.  Stay tuned next week to see on “ As the Football Turns”

What do you guys think?
