FanDuel & DraftKings DFS NHL Hockey Lineup Advice March 12th 2016

Fantasy Hockey

As I do in every post, I will give you analysis on some of the better matchups that you can exploit. While matchups play a bit role in daily fantasy hockey there are plenty of other factors to consider such as injuries, salaries, etc.

My analysis should point you in the right direction, but because hockey is an extremely high variance sport, it is still up to you to process the information and make your own selections.

Goalies
Cam Talbot FD $8,300 DK $7,100
Jonathan Quick
FD $8,600 DK $8,400
Both of these guys have great matchups and have been playing great hockey.  Talbot has a 920 save % on the season and has been hot lately winning five of his last six starts. In those game he has only allowed more than 1 goal once.  Tonight he faces the Coyotes who have been struggling, but are coming of a win last night so they should have some tired legs.

Quick and the Kings are a big favorite tonight and the Devils also are playing back to back games. The Devils played well last nigh beating the Sharks, but they will be facing a hot Kings team that is 6-2 over the last 8 games and allows the fewest shots on net.  Ironically the Devils are near the bottom in shots on net.

Centers
Connor McDavid FD $7,100 DK$7,100
Zack Smith DK $4,100

McDavid has a great matchup at home against the Coyotes.  The Oilers rookie  has 23 points in the last 20 games and is facing goalie Mike Smith whohas .901 save % and a 3.01 GA.  Another plus is the Oiler have changed up the lines during their last game where Taylor Hall ended up on his line.
Zack Smith his probably the best value of the day going by Salary Cap Crusher.  Not only has be red hot, but he get a great matchup against the Leafs tonight.  Smith has a great floor for cash games because he has been averaging 2.5 shots a game over his last 7 games.

Notables: Mark Scheifele FD $7,100 DK $5,700, Alex Galchenyuk FD $5,900

Forwards
Craig Smith DK $4,800
Mark Stone FD $6,000 DK $5,900

Smith and the Predators have been playing some great hockey.  Smith has had 5 goals and 6 assists in his last 10 games.   He and his line mates, Forsberg and Ribeiro have been the teams hottest line and also play on the team’s  top PP unit.

Mark Stone and line mate Zack Smith have been lighting the lamp even though the team struggles.  Stone has at least one goal or assist in each of the last 4 games.
Notables: Taylor Hall DK $6,700, Jonathan Huberdeau FD $6,200

Defense
Alex Markov FD $4,400 DK $4,900
Morgan Reilly FD $3,400 DK $4,500

With the injury to P.K. Subban, Markov will take charge of the top defensive line.  He has 10 assists in his last 10 games so at his salary, he is a great value at defense tonight.

Reilly is another value play if you need salary relief.  He has been playing good hockey as of late scoring a goal and an assist of 6 shots in the last two games.  He also plays on the Leafs top power play unit and is facing the Senators who sports one of the worst power play kill percentage with 77.3%.

Noteables: Andrej Sekera FD $ 3,900, Drew Doughty FD $6,300

FanDuel & DraftKings DFS NHL Hockey Lineup Advice February 20th 2016

Fantasy Hockey

Another week of  FanDuel DFS NHL in the books and we have a big slate of games for today, February 20th 2016. Lets look at some 50/50 and GPP lineup player picks and do a quick  summary of last nights lineup’s results.
NOTE: If you have any questions about your DFS lineup or want to discuss today’s fantasy contests, hit me up @lockdowncorner3 and leave your questions there.

Results for February 19th 2016 from my FanDuel DFS NHL 50/50 Lineup

My February 19th 50/50 lineup included left wingers Evander Kane and Brayden Schenn, right wingers Nestral and Simmons, centers Joe Thornton and Dubinski, defensemen Shayne Gostisbehere and Marc-Edouard Vlasic and goaltender Halak.

Yesterday’s lineup performed very well.  Halak was the shinning start scoring 10.4 fpts not only getting the win, but the shutout as well.  Shayne Gostisbehere kept his historic point streak alive bringing it to 14 games. He will be in my lineup again as he has a great matchup against the Maple Leafs today.  My value play also Nestrasil scored 4 fpts.

Ok, now lets get to some of my 50/50 and GPP lineup picks for your FanDuel and DraftKings lineups tonight.
GOALIES:

Braden Holtby (FD – $9,700 DK – $8,600) has been playing very well, especially at home where he has a record of 18-2-1.  Holtby has eight wins in his past ten games and has an 8-3-1 career record against the Devils.  Also the Devils are playing a back to back game and do not score very much so the possibility of a shutout could bring additional bonus points.

Petr Mrazek (FD – $9,300 DK – $7,700)

He is coming off back to back starts where he allowed five goals in both. I think this will provide him with low ownership in GPP games and is one of the cheaper starting goalies on DraftKings today. He has played very well for the Red Wings this year with a 22-11-5 record and .927 save percentage. He beaten the Senators twice this year allowing about 2 goals per game.

Players to Consider:  Brian Elliot

LEFT WINGERS:

Brayden Schenn (FD – $6,300 DK – $4,800)

Schenn has 5 goals and 3 assists in his last 10 games.  Today he gets a great matchup against the Maple Leafs and Ondrej Pavelec who has a .905 save percentage.

Henrik Zetterberg (FD – $6,700 DK – $5,600)

Zetterberghas been hot lately scoring a goal or an assist in 7 of the last 10 games so he has been very consistent.  He plays on Detroit’s first line and their top PP line, both alongside Pavel Datsyuk who has been on a tear lately.

Players to Consider: Jaden Schwartz ($6,000)
RIGHT WINGERS:

Justin Abdelkader (FD – $4.900 DK – $4.800)

Abdelkader is a great value play skating on both the Red Wings top line and the top PP unit with both Pavel Datsyuk and Henrik Zetterberg. He has picked up 9 points in his last 10 games with 27 shots and 13 PIMs.

Jordan Eberle ($6.600 FD $5,900 DK)

Since the return of Conner McDavid, Eberle’s fantasy value has taken off.  He has 7 goals and 5 assists in the last 10 games.  Tonight he has a good match against the Avalanche and backup goalie Calvin Pickard who has a 2.75 GA and a .917 save percentage.

CENTERS:
Pavel Datsyuk ($6,900 FD $6,200 DK)

The Red Wings had a tough few games losing 2 of the last 3 giving up 5 goals in each of the last two games.  This has not stopped the offense though.  Datsyuk has been playing well with points in each of the last 7 games.

Todnight they face the Senators who struggle defensively giving up the most shots on goal in the league. With their 74% penalty kill Datsyuk should take advantage of this matchup.

Brayden Scheen ($6,300 FD $4,800 DK)
