Week 8 Game By Game Break Down

Thursday Night Game

SD @ DEN
– Last year these two teams split, but if the Chargers want to win this one up in Denver, they are going to have to run the ball effectively to keep Peyton off the field. Now with Denver’s improved defense that may be a little harder to do.. The Broncos are a big favorite with a high O/U.  Starting options are Peyton, Sanders, The Thomas brother’s (D & JThomas) and Ronnie Hillman for this game. For the Chargers Allen, Oliver, Gates, Floyd, and maybe, maybe Royal.

Sunday Morning

London Game:

Detroit vs Atlanta – Atlanta’s offensive line is shot and their defense is terrible. Detroit on the other hand  has the number one defense in the league right but Vegas for some reason thinks it should beaclose game. On US soil Id expect a fairly high scoring game, but playing on the “pitch” I don’t know what to expect. I’m still rolling with Golden Tate against this weak secondary and with Calvin probably sitting out again.. Stafford should get back to 20 fantasy points this week.. Detroit Defense is a good play here as well and Im not crazy about any Falcons players, but it’s hard to sit Julio Jones if hes Healthy.

Min @ TB – Another game the gambling Gods see as a close low scoring affair, probably because they are two bad teams.  Min QB situation is in question, but Tampa Bay’s defense has be terrible.  Ith games like this I would at best lean towards the home team players, but I would include Jarrick McKinnon as the lone MIN play I really love this week.  For Tampa Id be good with V-Jax, Rainey and maybe Glennon if you must.

CHI @ NE I see this as a possible high scoring game provided we get the good Jay Cutler. I like both offenses in this one., I like taking a chance on Cutler this week because he tends to play better on the road this year. This game has shootout potential so I’m comfortable with Brady, Gronk and even Vereen since he is also great catching passes out of the backfield (good for PPR).

STL @ KC –  Nothing exiting about this game.  The Chiefs are a heavy favorite at home going against a so so Rams team. Jamal Charles at home this week should go crazy. I’d also consider Kelce because of his upside even though the Rams have been good against TE’s this season. KC defense is also a really good play this week.

SEA @ CAR – The Seattle defense is not playing as well as it did last season so starting some Panthers at home against them is not such a bad thing.  With that being said I feel most comfortable with Greg Olsen and maybe even Kelvin Benjamin if the price is right  The Pathers defense looked so bad last week against Green Bay that for the Seahawks I’d start  Wilson (love him this week), who has put up more fantasy points in road games then at home this season. I’d  also start, Lynch and Baldwin, this week. Olsen has the best matchup of the group as Seattle has had trouble covering TE’s this season and the Newton Olsen connection has been pretty strong.

BUF @ NYJ – This game would seem to be a low scoring affair. Buffalo got its passing game going with Orton and Watkins, but lost both of their starting RB’s last week in the process and should be rolling out Bryce Brown and maybe even Dixon. Brown filled in for the injured Shady McCoy last year and put up two really good weeks. The Jets run defense has been really good this season but I’d use Brown as a potential sleeper in a GPP games but not H to H.  Both defenses are in play this week for this game. Watkins would be the only guy I like from this game and MAYBE Harvin as a long shot?

MIA @ JAC – Another game that the odds-makers see as a low scoring game,  Jacksonville’s Defense has been ok at home this season, but that was before they lost, LB Poslusny, their best Defensive player. I like Lamar Miller in this one. Miami Defense is in play as well. Sleeper alert, Ryan Tannehill has been hot lately, I expect his streak to continue.

HOU @ TEN – Another supposedly low scoring affair (43.5 O/U). The wild card in this on is that the Titans will be starting Zach Mettenberger. He probably has the best arm of the three QB’s so the WR’s should see some upside.  That said with JJ Watt and the Houston D line I’d expect mettenberger to be harassed all day. Arian Foster is always playable as of late as well as Hopkins and Andre who have been hit or miss this season. I don’t see much reason to target any players from this game, maybe for a low priced guy with upside like Justin Hunter.

CIN @ BAL – This one is tough.  Both teams have good defenses, but Cincinnati’s has been terrible as of late. Baltimore has been particularly good at home as of late  It’s a division game and both teams know each other really well so games like that tend to be close battles.  They way both teams are playing I could see a Baltimore rout.  Id start Steve Smith Sr., the Baltimore defense and Owen Daniels, But he will be out this week.  Deep sleeper alert Crocket Gilmore at tight end.  Seems to be a good redzone target and Cin has been bad covering TE’s.
PHI @ AZ – Vegas sees as close and high scoring game. The Center for the Eagles looks like he will be back and ready to go this weekend. McCoy is starting to look better every week. Arizona is at home with Palmer should make Floyd playable. Foles, Maclin, McCoy, Floyd, Palmer and Ellington are all good plays this week.

IND @ PIT – With a O/U of 49 Vegas is expecting this game to be high scoring on. Pittsburgh defense has been poor this season and Luck is putting up Fantasy points similar to Peyton Manning. Luck and T.Y Hilton is in play as is Bradshaw. For the Steelers Big Ben, Bell and Brown.

OAK @ CLE – Games between two below average teams meet. I generally lean toward the home team in these types of games. Cleveland is heavily favored in this low scoring affair. Ben Tate is a good bet to see 25 touches this week.

GB @ NO – The 55 O/U for this game tells you we should expecta shootout. Every player on offense for both teams make good plays this week. Rodgers, Nelson, Cobb, and Lacy. Adams is an interesting sleeper. For the Saints, Brees, Colston and Graham are all solid plays, Cadet as a Sleeper

Monday Night

WAS @ DAL
 – Dallas should win this big or at least that’s what Vegas is thinking. The Dallas offense are all good this week, Romo, Dez, Murray has been unstoppable and Williams all good plays this week. I like the Dallas defense in this one as well against McCoy.
