Lockdown Corner Week 12 Draftkings Daily Fantasy Football Advice
DRAFTKINGS Player Advice and Cheat Sheet
I did game by game breakdowns in my FanDuel Strategy Advice column, so I’m going to just highlight the players to target, their DraftKings price and my thoughts and strategy on which players you should target for your DraftKings Lineup.
Cleveland Browns @ Atlanta Falcons (o/u 47)
Josh Gordon ($6300)
Everyone has Gordon fever, so I expect him to be VERY highly owned. Gordon has an amazing matchup going against the Falcons, who’ve allowed 4 TDs in the last five games to WR1s.
Andrew Hawkins ($4900)
Hawkins is the player who’s value could be effected most by the return of Josh Gordon. I don’t think the Browns throw enough for both guys to really produce, but who knows, maybe they will throw the ball now with Gordon back. I still think he could do well with softer coverage with Gordon back.
Brian Hoyer ($5900)
Hoyer is a very interesting play this week between Gordon coming back and his price tag. He has a great matchup against a poor Atlanta defense. I’m Stacking Hoyer and Gordon in at least one lineup this week.
Isaiah Crowell ($3800)
With the release of Ben Tate and Crowell being named the starter last week, Crowell becomes an interesting play this week for the price. Atlanta is 24th against the run and I should get the majority of the carries.
Roddy White ($6200)
I like Roddy White this week. WR2’s do very well against Cleveland While Jones is matchup up against Joe Haden White is cheaper than Jones and I think has a better matchup.
Tennessee Titans @ Philadelphia Eagles (o/u 49)
I wont be using anyone from the Titans in my lineups this week.
Jordan Matthews ($5500)
I love Matthews again this week. Sanchez and Matthews clearly have a connection. Since Mark Sanchez took over, Matthews has seen 20 targets and leads the team in catches, yards, and touchdowns. Great price for that kind of production.
LeSean McCoy ($6200)
After the way the Titans struggled to stop the Steelers run game, I think you have to find a way to get McCoy into the lineup this week. TEN has allowed the second most rushing yards this. McCoy has struggled this year, but is still getting plenty touches to produce.
Detroit Lions @ New England Patriots (o/u 48.5)
Calvin Johnson ($7800) & Golden Tate ($6900)
Im going to fade both of the Lions WRs this week. Playing in New Englandagainst a Patriot that is in the top of the league at defending the pass. On top of that, who will Darrelle Revis be covering, Tate or Calvin?
New England Patriots
Tom Brady ($8600)
The Patriots can completely change an offensive game-plan from week to week based on their opponents. Last week they exploiting the Colts run defense running Jonas Gray all day. This week the Lions are solid against the run, so I expect the Brady to throw alot.
Jonas Gray ($5600) & Shane Vereen ($5300)
Im not touching Gray this week. After he was sent home for being late to a practice and the Pats resigning Blount I doubt he will be a big part of the game plan this week. Vereen may actually have the big day, especially if the Pats throw a lot. With PPR scoring on DraftKings, Vereen looks like a nice play this week.
Rob Gronkowski ($7900)
Gronk is killing it. He is pretty much a must start if you can get him in your lineup every week. He will create a matchup problem for the Lions this week.
Green Bay Packers @ Minnesota Vikings (o/u 49.5)
Green Bay Packers
Pay up for an Packer you can if you can fit them in your lineup. Rodgers and Jordy Nelson stack has been great this season.
Jerick McKinnon ($4500 – RB31)
The MIN running back situation has been hard to figure. Matt Asiata hasn’t practiced all week (concussion), so he should inactive and they just picked up Ben Tate, but I don’t see him having much of a role in the offense this week. McKinnon’s workload should be good this week Even if the game is a blowout and the Vikings have to abandon the run early I still think McKinnon will get some balls throw to him.
Jacksonville Jaguars @ Indianapolis Colts (o/u 50.5)
Denard Robinson ($5600)
The Jaguars are so bad that every one forgets forget how good Denard Robinson has been playing. The Colts have been terrible at stopping the run (29th in the league) giving up 199 yards to Jonas Gray . Robinson is a very good play this week for the money.
Cecil Shorts ($5400)
If you are down in this range looking for someone, Shorts makes for decent option. In the last five games, Shorts leads the team in targets (47). With Robinson being out for the year, his targets will have to be spread amongst the other receivers. Shorts should have the best chance of getting those targets.
Andrew Luck ($9700)
Luck should put up big number like he did earlier in the season against the Jags. With Ahmad Bradshaw done for the year, the Colts should lean on Luck even more until they can get Richardson going. Don’t be afraid to pay up for Luck with all the RB value out there this week.
Trent Richardson ($4900)
Its hard to say, but I expect Richardson to have a solid day if he is ever going to be the true lead back in the Colts backfield. I expect the Colts to throw more just incase Richardson is not producing. I could see him getting at least 10 points like he did earlier in the seaon against the Jags.
TY Hilton ($7600)
Im betting big this week and stacking Luck and Hilton. I may even get Fleener and the Defense in there as well. Hilton does great playing indoors.
Coby Fleener ($5200)
I expect Fleener to see a more targets with Dwayne Allen out this week. He is a very safe option for a team that likes to throw a lot and he is priced well on DraftKings this week.
Cincinnati Bengals @ Houston Texans (o/u 44)
Giovani Bernard ($6400) & Jeremy Hill ($5700)
I don’t trust Bernard this week because we don’t know what the time split will be. Hill is still not a bad play for the price, but there are better options out there.
AJ Green ($7300)
Green looked good last week and now has a great matchup. The Texans corners have been killed by WR1s all season. They’ve also gave up 9 TDs to WR1s in 9 games.
Andre Johnson ($5300) & DeAndre Hopkins ($5300 )
Im fading Johnson this week but does seem to be better with Ryan Mallett at QB.
Hopkins on the other hand continues to be a legit WR in this league. I thought starting Mallett at QB would hurt both WR’s, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. Hopkins has gone for 80+ yards and/or a TD in 8 of 10 games this season. He has a high floor with high upside makes him a great option, especially in cash gamess.
Arian Foster ($8600 – RB2) & Alfred Blue ($5600 – RB17)
Whoever starts for the Texans is going to be a solid fantasy option. Arian Foster is a gametime decision, so Blue would be an easy swap that could provide salary flexibility to upgrade your whole team. If he’s active, I expect him to see 20+ touches. Great matchup for whom ever is starting at RB.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Chicago Bears (o/u 46.5)
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Mike Evans ($7800)
Evans is tearing it up right now and it’s hard to bet against him this week. With Defenses paying so much attention to Jackson, the rookie is seeing plenty of chances to make some plays. When Josh McCown starting Evans has been doing very well. The Bears have allowed 14 TDs through the air in the last four weeks.
Vincent Jackson ($5200)
Jackson is hard to start, but I think you can in this matchup.
Jay Cutler ($7700)
Cutler is hard to trust especially at home this season, but this matchup is just so good to pass up.
Matt Forte ($9500 – RB1)
Forte has an extremely high floor and against the Bucs who rank in the bottom third of the league in fpts allowed, he is a must start. I think he will be good again this week though I do prefer to go with some cheaper options at RB such as Forsett, Charles, CJ Anderson, etc this week.
Brandon Marshall ($7100) & Alshon Jeffery ($7200)
Not crazy about these guys this week, but I may stack Culter with Marshall.
Arizona Cardinals @ Seattle Seahawks (o/u 41.5)
Andre Ellington ($5800)
Ellington gets a large workload and you can run on the Seahawks this year, but I’d prefer to stay away.
Russell Wilson ($7600)
Wilson is could be a sneaky play this week because whie The Cardinals don’t allow many points to opposing QB’s, they do struggle against running QB’s. Kaepernick ran for 51 yards against them this season
Marshawn Lynch ($6700)
The Arizona has a really good run defense, but Lynch at home is hard to sit. In fact he’s scored 35 TDs in his last 30 home games.
St. Louis Rams @ San Diego Chargers (o/u 43.5)
St. Louis Rams
Tre Mason ($4200)
I am all in on Tre Mason this week. Not only has he seen 18+ touches in 4 of his last 5 games he’s averaging 4.2 YPC against some solid run defenses (SFx2, SEA, KC, ARI, DEN). In the last 5 games, the Chargers surrendered 105 YPG on the ground. This is a great value play and will allow you to get some studs into your lineup this week.
San Diego Chargers
Philip Rivers ($6600)
Rivers has totally fallen off. Antonio Gates was quoted saying Rivers has a “very severe rib injury” which is scary. I’m going to continue fading all Chargers offensive players.
Ryan Mathews ($4600)
Mathews looked good in his first game back from injury, but the Rams over the past 6 games have only allowed ONE team to surpass 66 yards.
Miami Dolphins @ Denver Broncos (o/u 48.5)
Lamar Miller ($4700)
Im not crazy about miller this week. You can run on the Broncos, but if this turns into a shootout, The Dolphins have to throw the ball more.
Peyton Manning ($9400)
Mannings price has been so high and the production for said price just hasn’t been there. Add to that how banged up his receiving corp got last week that Sanders and Julius Thomas were game time decisions. The Dolphins have been really good against the pass this year, in fact they haven’t allowed a 300 yard passer this season.
Demaryius Thomas ($8700)
I think he should see an increase in targets this week especially if Thomas and/or Sanders are out so I can’t kill you for paying up. I think he will see an increase even if they are playing.
Jacob Tamme ($3400)
It would be hard to find a better option in this price range. Tamme should he the lone TE weapon and Tamme and Manning have a great connection after playing for years together. Even last week he saw 10 targets after Julius Thomas left the game.
Washington Redskins @ San Francisco 49ers (o/u 44)
This team is a complete mess right now and RG3 is losing the locker room. I would not touch any of these WR’s.
Alfred Morris ($5000)
Morris is a good play, but not one of my favorites on DreaftKings as he doesn’t catch many passes. If they fall behind, Morris will be useless.
San Francisco 49ers
Colin Kaepernick ($6500)
Great matchup but there are much better options especially at lower salaries.
Anquan Boldin ($5200)
Boldin has been putting up some good numbers every week, especially on DraftKings. He seems to be the only consistent pass catcher I can trust on the 49ers. Well worth the price for a high floor.
Dallas Cowboys @ New York Giants (o/u 48.5)
Tony Romo ($7500)
Romo has been putting up some solid numbers even though hes been hurt. Every week hes good for at least 250 yards and 2-3 TD’s a week. Stack him and Bryant in this potential high scoring game.
DeMarco Murray ($8500)
The Giants can’t stop a nose bleed. They have allowed the most rushing yards and rushing TDs in the entire NFL this season. DeMarco Murray is on pace for almost 2,000 yards and 11 TDs. Coming off the bye, Murray and offensive line should be good to go this week. PAY UP FOR MURRAY against their hated division rival!
Dez Bryant ($8100)
Dez has been a fantasy monster this season. I would take my chances with Dez since Romo always looks for him. I’d Stack Romo and Bryant in a lineup.
New York Giants
Odell Beckham Jr. ($6100)
The only Giants player I can trust. Beckham looks poised to put up good number in this one. Beckham has scored a TD or gone for 90+ yards in 5 of his 6 career games. Great price for the production.
New York Jets @ Buffalo Bills – o/u 41.5 – (Detroit, MI)
This is the game moved from Sunday in Buffalo to Monday in Detroit. The Bills should be most impacted by this game since they haven’t been able to practice together all week. They have arrived in Detroit as of Saturday, so they have to time to prepare for this Monday evening tilt.
Sammy Watkins ($5600)
I was going to avoid this game because of how this game will be impacted. Watkins is too good to pass up and did a number on the Jets the last time they played. The Jets have allowed the 9th most fpts to opposing WRs.
Baltimore Ravens @ New Orleans Saints (o/u 50.5)
Baltimore Ravens (+3)
Joe Flacco ($6700)
According to Vegas they are expecting a shootout. I’m just not that into Flacco.
Steve Smith Sr. ($4800)
I expect him to be rested after the bye week and is due for a breakout game. I’m not going to play him.
Justin Forsett ($6500)
All in on Forsett this week. Quietly having a top 10 RB season, The Saints allow the 11th most fpts to opposing RBs and have given up for 294 rushing yards the last two weeks.
New Orleans Saints
Drew Brees ($8200)
Im going to Fade Brees this week as production has been down and he lost Cooks.
Jimmy Graham ($7000)
With the season-ending injury to Brandin Cooks, that means even MORE targets for Graham and no competition for targets from other WRs. The Ravens allow the 7th fewest fpts to opposing TEs, but Im sure Graham will produce.
Kenny Stills ($4200)
Stills is an interesting play this week as he should see the targets that Cooks was getting. The Ravens secondary is banged up so that should bode well for Stills.
