Yahoo NFL Daily Fantasy Cash Game Plays: Players to Target for your Week 11 DFS Lineup

Yahoo NFL Daily Fantasy Cash Game Plays: Players to Target for your Week 11 DFS Lineup

NFL Daily Fantasy

With all the people playing and giving advice for FanDuel and DraftKings daily fantasy football, I thought I would give some advice for those looking Yahoo daily fantasy and cover some of their “tougher” pricing.  Yahoo bases their teams on a $200 pricing model and top players for the week can use up 20% of your budget, so finding value is essential

Quarterback

Kirk Cousins – $32

Cousins get a tasty matchup against a pass friendly Packer defense who just came off a terrible performance last week against the Titans.  You could pay up for Rodgers ($35), but its not necessary.  Last week Marcus Mariota torched  Green Bay for 295 yards and 4 touchdowns  and  Vegas has this game as shootout this week.  Grab Cousins, get your 20+ points and save some money for the rest of your lineup!

Other Notables:

Aaron Rodgers
Andrew Luck

Running Back

Le’Veon Bell – $40

Bell should put up big numbers this week against Cleveland.   Inclement weather and a terrible Cleveland defense should only further persuade you to pay up for Bell in cash games this week.

Other Notables:

LeGarrette Blount
Rashard Jennings
Frank Gore

Wide Receiver

Dez Bryant – $22

Of all the top receivers like Brown, Green, and Evans, you are looking at $32+ this week Dez is an extreme value this week.  He gets a great matchup against a bad Ravens secondary that will be without its top cover corner in Jimmy Smith this week.

Other Notables:

Rishard Matthews
Julian Edelman
Donte Moncrief

Tight End

Martellus Bennett – $15

Even with Rob Gronkowski (chest) playing last week,  Bennett was still involved in last week’s game catching seven catches for 102 yards.  Now this week Bennett should be heavily involved with Gronk out of the lineup. Bennett’s price makes him a must-start in DFS cash games this week. The 49ers have been gouged by top TEs, this season, including Greg Olsen (5-122-1) and Jimmy Graham (6-100-1). Bennett should be a great play for salary cap relief.

Other Notables:

Cameron Brate
Zack Miller
Kyle Rudolph

Defense

Steelers – $15

The Steelers have a sweet matchup against the 0-10 Browns, who have given up the 4th most  fantasy points to opposing defenses.  Enough said?

Other Notables:

Giants
Dolphins

Week 8 DFS Stacks:  Stacking the Deck in Our Favor

NFL Daily Fantasy

A great strategy for building winning daily fantasy football lineups is by putting players together that have a positive correlation, we call this “stacking”.  Stacking is the process of putting players on the same team into your lineup because you believe they will have a great day.  In other words, if one player has a good day, chances are the players around them will have a good day too as is the case with QB and WR’s around them.

This is a popular way to find salary cap relief as well as increase your teams chance of scoring points.  Stacking is also risky, say if your quarterback has a bad day, chances are his receivers will have a bad day as well.  This is why stacking is more popular in large GPP tournaments, especially 3 player stacks, but you can do 2 player stacks in cash games and get away with it.

Stacks are also a great way to pivot off of “chalky” players.  Many tournament players may use a Brady to Gronk stack, but if you used Winston to Evans stack, you would be able to add Julio Jones to your lineup or maybe even use a Carr, Cooper and Crabtree stack in a great matchup to create a unique lineup.

Now there are many different types of stacks.  The most popular is QB/WR, QB/TE, WB/WR/TE, etc, but in some cases if you think the team will get a big lead or like to throw to their RB, then you can do a QB/WR/RB stack.

Whichever way you choose to build your lineup, you need to have a strategic reason to stack.  To win in big tournaments, you want to find a combination that will score a ton of points while being low owned. After all, who wants to win and split the prize with 100 other people!

For sake of this article, I will not talk about the Ryan/Jones stack ,the Brady/Gronk Stack or the Winston/Evans stack.
For now, let’s jump right into the Week 8 stacks.

Seattle Seahawks

QB: Russell Wilson ($8,200)
WR: Doug Baldwin ($7,200)
TE: Jimmy Graham (

This one is very interesting.  On the surface, its obvious because of how bad the Saints defense has been, but the way Russell Wilson has been playing, I think you will see that this stack will not be very high owned.  Vegas has the Seahawks with a 25.5-point implied total in this game, so we need to draft the players that will score those points. The Saints rank 29th DVOA against the pass so we want to the Seattle passing attack.  Russell Wilson has been struggling, but he likes to run; even though he’s a bit banged up he still is capable against this defense.  Doug Baldwin makes another great option.  He runs most of his routes out of the slot, so he will get better CB/WR match ups.  And if you stack Graham in there too, I’m sure he will do his patented dunk on his former team on Sunday.

New York Jets

QB: Ryan Fitzpatrick ($7,300)
WR: Brandon Marshall ($7,400)

While DFS players are talking about the with Matt Ryan and Julio Jones stack , many people are missing a stack with a great matchup and at a cheaper price.  Ryan Fitzpatrick to Brandon Marshall stack is a very sneaky play this week.  Marshall’s price tag this week is great considering the potential for a big day.   The Jets face off this week against the Cleveland Browns’ who sport a 30th-ranked pass defense, which is something we need to focus on.  While Joe Haden may be back for this one, its his first game back and he is beatable.  Brandon Marshall also has a distinct height advantage that will make things harder for the Browns.  The news of Haden coming back may also work in our favor as another reason to expect this to be a low-owned stack.

Houston Texans

QB: Brock Osweiler ($6,600)
WR: DeAndre Hopkins ($7,600)
WR: Will Fuller ($

This is a very risky stack this week.  I doubt many people will consider rostering it just because they can’t click the draft button next to Brock Osweiler’s name.

Brock Osweiler, has been one of the worst starting quarterback in the league so far this year, but with a his great matchup, he will saves you a lot of salary cap space so that you can stack them with DeAndre Hopkins or $6,600 for Will Fuller,  and afford to pay up for other guys like Julio Jones or David Johnson.  Stacking the Texans players should really help you to differentiate your lineups from other players instead of using the chalky value plays for the week.  Osweiler has not hit 20 fantasy points this season so only use him in very large GPP tournaments.

Good luck in your tournies this week and heres hoping you cash out!

Week 7 Quarterbacks – Using Advanced Stats to Build a Winning FanDuel or DraftKings Lineup

Week 7 Quarterbacks – Using Advanced Stats to Build a Winning FanDuel or DraftKings Lineup

NFL Daily Fantasy

Every week I have to earn my fan bases trust.  As an fantasy football expert. I made a lot of money in daily fantasy sports for myself, but I need to help you make money playing daily fantasy football.  As someone who puts in countless hours researching, running the numbers  and thinking through each teams players and matchups, I came up with my Quarterback plays you need to consider this week to help you put together a winning FanDuel  and DraftKings lineup this week.

Quarterbacks – By The Numbers

Guys I love this week are Brady, Dalton, Bortles, Rivers, Ryan and Cousins.  Why?

Tom Brady at Steelers – $7,900 DK / $9,100 FD

I listed Brady first because this is the 3rd stop on his revenge tour(yes, sometimes you numbers don’t tell the whole story).  However, here are some numbers. Since his return Brady has averaged 37.5 pass attempts per game.  What if they are killing the Steelers?  LOL that’s a good one.  Luckily, no matter how much they are ahead by, they always keep the foot on the gas.

.Matt Ryan and the Falcons on the other hand, if they get up by to much, they may start running a lot more.  I nothing else, they may run more just to keep Rivers off the field.  Case in point, against a New Orleans Saints Matt Ryan threw only 30 times in order to keep Brees off the field.

Andy Dalton vs Browns – $6,000 DK / $8,100 FD

No one ever talks about Dalton as a top DFS play, but I like Dalton a lot this week for both cash and GPP games.  Here are some numbers to consider:

According to Football Outsiders, the Browns rank 30th in pass defense DVOA and rank 28th in yards allowed per pass attempt.

If that’s not enough, last year Dalton put up 23.9 (220 yrds, 2 TD’s and one rushing TD) and 21.86 fantasy points(234 yrds and 3 TD’s) up against the Browns last season, and guess what, the Browns have allowed three touchdown passes in four consecutive games.  Dalton makes a better DraftKings play because of the 300 yard passing bonus.

Kirk Cousins vs Detroit – $5,900 DK / $7,300 FD

While Cousins home/road splits last year were extremely different, this year he has made that a thing if the past.  The great matchup Cousins has this week against the Lions who rank 31st against the pass defense DVOA.  His passing NEP per pass attempt on the road this year is .22, while the league average is .13.  Those are the numbers, but here are some other things to think about.  Just last week this Lions defense allowed Case Keenum to throw for 321 yards and 3 TD’s and while the status of Desean Jackson and Jordon Reed is still up in the air, Cousins has enough weapons from Garcon, Crowder and newly found target Vernon Davis to get the job done.

Philip Rivers @Atlanta – $6,500 DK / $7,800 FD

Rivers seems to keep this team in games every week and this week should be no different.  Up until last week when he played against that Denver defense, Rivers had over 300 yards passing and 6 TD’s over the last 3 games.

This week he faces Atlanta who has one of the hottest offenses that will be a handful for the Chargers 26th ranked pass defense.   Because he should be playing from behind, Rivers will put up big numbers against a weak Falcon defense.  Even Vegas sees this as a high scoring game, with an over/under of 54.5 this week.  If that, is not enough for you, here’s another interesting fact, when the Chargers are underdogs by 6 points or more, Rivers has averaged 24.87 fantasy points per game!

Good luck in your FanDuel and DraftKings contests this week and as always let me know how you did. @lockdowncorner3

FanDuel & DraftKings Divisional Round Top Player Values

NFL Daily Fantasy

FanDuel vs DraftKingsLast week scores were pretty low.  Teams are better and know how to show guys down, like Calvin Johnson last week.  Usually the winning scores in the millionaire pools or most pools for that matter are 270-330 ish give or take.  The winning score in last week’s Saturday Million was 149.66. Because of the limited selection of players to choose from, the playoffs are likely to continue to be lower scoring than the regular season contests. This means you should be okay with using some sub-optimal values in your GPP contests in order to get the right combination of high upside plays in your lineup.

Case in point I used the cheapest kicker and the Indy defense last week to work Calvin Johnson and Antonio Brown into the same lineup.  Carolina was the heavy favorite defense last week and scored 11 points where as Indy scored 9 and I save $500. I always talk about determining player value by calculating their cost per point scored.  In this case I saved $500 and only gave up 2 points in the process.

With the limited slate of games, the best way to stack may be to stack entire teams. Winning teams’ passing and rushing stats are higher than losing teams, so you can base your lineups around, say, a Rodgers-Lacy-Nelson or a Manning-Anderson-Thomas stack.

Now lets get into player values based on both FanDuel and DraftKings pricing this week.  FanDuel as always, has a very sharp pricing structure, forcing you to find value plays such as a Cole Beasley or Dan Herron.  This is why I will comment on FanDuel and Draftings pricing not to mention DraftKings offers a higher PPR scoring, so I will mention players you can use to tak advantage of this.

**Editors Note: The first Salary is FanDuel and the second is DraftKings pricing.

QB Andrew Luck @ DEN $9,600 – $8,700

The popular choices seem to be Aaron Rodgers this week, but I believe Luck, who throws all the time as it is, offers the highest floor along with Brady. I would love Rodgers more,. But my only problem is Rodgers has added risk because his calf may not be 100 percent healthy.  In the event the Packers have to bring Flynn in, Nelson and Cobb’s value will take a hit but are still good..

Luck had a great game against the Broncos earlier this year and the Broncos allow 20 percent more total touchdowns to quarterbacks than the league average. Rodgers at home has been amazing.  He has over 9 fpts more at home than on the road.

QB: Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay vs Dallas, $9.700 – $8900

Of the high-priced quarterbacks, I’m love Rodgers and Andrew Luck. They’re similarly priced and I’d lick to stack him with Nelson. But that Calf worries me, Luck might be the guy because he throws a lot but Im not sure what to think of Hilton this week so I would probably not stack him and Luck.  I may use Moncrief as a sleeper in GPP games..

The way Vegas sees both the Green Bay and Indianapolis games, I don’t think you’re going to go wrong with either Luck or Rodgers, but I like Brady as sneaker play.  I don’t think many players will draft Brady and I think he will tear that weak Baltimore secondary apart

QB: Tom Brady, New England vs Baltimore, $9,100 – $7800 – My Sneakier Play

Brady isn’t really a low-priced quarterback, but for the $600 saving on FanDuel and the $1100 saving on DraftKings pricing over Arron Rodgers ($9700 & $8900 respectively) I love Brady’s player value based on the expected production.  This will allow me to make up any point differential between lets say him and Rodgers or Luck by using that extra money on better receivers.

Win at FanDuel & DraftKings – How I Did Last Week in Daily Fantasy Football

NFL Daily Fantasy

FanDuel vs DraftKingsWell week one of the playoffs was interesting.  On FanDuel I found myself in a position to either win it all or more likely finish in the top five.

Going into the last game between the Cowboys and Lions I was 26 points out of first place.  Most of the people ahead of me had no players left, a few that were 10 points ahead of me, had Jason Witten going  and still had Calvin Johnson left!  I actually had Antonio Brown AND Calvin Johnson in the same lineup.

Unfortunately I didn’t get a typical Calvin day or I would have placed in the top five of the pool.

On DraftKings however, I was in a contest with 47,000 teams and placed 173th!  Believe it or not I WAS ONLY 17 points out of First Place!  I got big games out of Luck, Heron, Brown, Bryant, and Tate.

This week I will be at it again.  I will go into a player break down in my next post, but I want to mention some very cool contests you should enter on both FanDuel and DraftKings.

Week 17 FanDuel & DraftKings Player Cheat Sheet

NFL Daily Fantasy
Welcome back for for  the 2014 week 17 regular season finale.  Our last week of a full slate of fantasy worthy games to draft from on FanDuel and DraftKings.  Its been a great year, I personally took my Daily Fantasy Football  to another level with my player production value spreadsheets and cheat sheets. Based on the feedback I’ve gotten through email, G+ and twitter that many of you have as well, so lets keep it going into the playoffs!
The last week of the season is always one of the hardest to figure out.  This is exactly the reason no one likes their season long fantasy seasons to run this long.  Motivation is the key factor this week when selecting your starting fantasy lineup.  This is because many teams mathematically eliminated from the playoffs and others fighting hard to get in, this is why team motivation is a big factor when selecting daily fantasy players.
For DFS purposes, I only like to use players from  teams that have something to play for.  This week Im not crazy about using any Patriots and Colts this week because there is nothing for them to play for.  Im also not a fan of teams that are completely out of it with nothing to play for.  I may consider division rivalry games where nothing is at stake such as the Giants and Eagles game.

What Teams Are Playing for What This Week?
Baltimore, Houston, San Diego, and Kansas City are all fighting for the 6th seed in the AFC. I would expect all of these teams to go all out.
Dallas has a chance for a Bye with a win.

Week 15 Recap: Best Fantasy Player Values

NFL Daily Fantasy

Finding the Best Fantasy Value: Player Cost (Dollar Value) Per Point of Production

DraftKings ScoreFirst of I want to brag a bit and show off one of my lineups this week.  I scored 192.68 points and came in 115th place out of 57,500 entries.  To put things in perspective so you can see how close to winning and moving up from 115th to 10 place, I was 12 points away from 10th place and about 29 points away from taking 1st place!

I have been talking a while about ways to make money playing Daily Fantasy Football on websites like FanDuel and DraftKings, showing you some strategies the pros use to consistently make money and keep their cash flow growing.  One of the topics I spoke about was calculating player value, after all, how do you know if a player is a good value or not other than guessing?  In this example, Im going to use my DraftKings lineup.  All the pricing below is based on the DraftKings pricing model.  FanDuel is generally higher priced, so you know player cost per point will be much higher.

Week 15 Fanduel and Draftkings Strategy Advice: Daily Fantasy Football Player Picks

NFL Daily Fantasy

Thursday Night Game

12/11 8:25 ET At St. Louis -3 Arizona 40.5

Vegas sees this as a low scoring game which is not good for fantasy football.  Im probably going to fade this game all together other than the St.Louis defense,  that has been killing it the last few weeks.  This week they are going for a potential

shutout 3 weeks in a row.

Sunday Ganes

12/14 1:00 ET At Kansas City -10.5 Oakland 41.5

Another game Vegas sees as low scoring, but they do see it as a Kansas City blow out.  For the Chiefs, I love Charles this week, but he is still questionable after injuring his knee last week.  If that’s the case Knile Davis should be a STEAL!  For the price, I like the Kansas City defense as well.  They play really well at home, so they should have a better showing this time around.  The only Raider I would consider as a good punt play is Lataveous Murray.
