Wildcard Weekend Daily Fantasy Football Cheat Sheet

Wildcard Weekend Daily Fantasy Football Cheat Sheet

Yahoo, DraftKings and FanDuel Picks for your lineup

Another year, another regular football season ends leaving most of us sad because our teams did not make the playoffs, but not us.   We still have daily fantasy football.  We can still play for four more weeks, all throughout the playoffs, to keep us entertained.  Whether you play Yahoo, DraftKings or FanDuel (or all three in my case) there is no end to the fun, especially since all three sites are a little different, so making lineups for each needs a slightly different strategy.

Play against us on DraftKings with GPP games starting at just $.25 cents

With that said, lets take a look at some picks for this weekend’s games and some good plays we can use in our lineups.  All game types whether cash games or GPP tournaments become a little harder to win since the player pool has been dramatically reduced.  This gives everybody a chance to put a decent lineup together, so we have to differentiate ours from everyone elses.

This weeks games are

Chiefs vs Texans
Steelers vs Bengals
Seahawks vs Vikings
Packers vs Redskins
Chiefs vs Texans

This game could go either way, a KC blow out or like in week one, the Texans could pull off the upset.   Im going with the KC blow out and taking the KC defense.  I don’t really like anyone in this game, so I will probably fade all the other players, but the Chiefs defense has been hot lately, even though most of their opponents have been weaker teams..  Hopkins could be a possible option to mix up my lineups as I don’t see any of the other stud receivers doing much this week, so even if Hopkins gets you 12 points, you should be in good shape.

Steelers vs Bengals

This game should be a tight one.  Between the weather and the fact that these division rivals know each other, I don’t expect a ton of offense.  With that being said, I will still be using Brown and Green obviously, even though the Bengals have kept Brown in check this season holding to him to between 11-12 fantasy points in both contests.  Green is a must based on the fact that he is a favorite target of A.J. McCarron, the Steelers secondary is weak and he has done well against the Steelers in both games, 17.8 and 19.2 (using standard scoring).

Other than those two, I like Toussaint $5,700 on FanDuel.  For his price at running back it’s a steal.  He is the lead back and should see the bulk of the carries this week, which is much more than you can say about any of the other running backs this weekend.  Though his first outing last week was not very impressive, 12 carries for 24 yards, he should surpass that and for the price you cant go wrong.  Your other options are paying up for time shares like West/Ware or Lacy/Starks.

Heath Miller makes a nice GPP pick based on thenumber he put up this year against Cincinnati, 10/105 and 10/66.  If you believe in guys stepping up after being called out by their QB, then Bryant could be your WR sleeper.

Im fading all Bengals not named A.J. Green, but maybe Hill as a secondary pick.  The Steelers are stout against the run so unless the throw to him out of the backfield, his fantasy production could be limited.

Seahawks vs Vikings

Weather could be a factor in this game.  The temp at kickoff should be around zero degrees and Vegas expects a low scoring close game.  Who am I to go against Vegas, so I will not be using tomany offensive weapons in this game.  Instead Im looking at maybe Wilson, for his running ability,  but Christine Michael will be my top selection.

Michael should get 90% of the touches(yes I just pulled that number out of the air), because Marshawn Lynch was a late scratch for todays game.  As with Toussaint, I like Michael because he will see volume in a low scoring ground game, giving him a chance to break one or a possible goal line carry.  Last week Michael went 17/102 against a good Arizona defense.

As for the Seattle wide outs, Baldwin seems like the obvious pick, and for the money on FanDuel ($7,300) he is the cheapest of the elite receivers, but he has a tough matchup.  Even though the Vikings defense is banged up, Baldwin runs about 80-90% of his routes in the slot.  That means he will be matche up against Captain Munnerlyn, who has been pretty good covering slot receiver this season.   So if you use Baldwin, you may want to temper expectations.

My secondary option for GPP games is to draft Jermaine Kearse for my lineups.  He has put up 4 double digit games in a row and the Vikings are weaker covering outside receivers.  This should give Keasre a chance to possibly beat them deep, but at the least should see a decent amount of targets.

Obviously both defenses are in play and I like Blair this week as my kicker.  I expect the Seahawks to stop many of Minnesota’s drives so I expect Blair to kick a few FG’s in this low scoring game.

As for the Vikings, Im fading everyone except the Kicker Blair and maybe the defense.  Seattle’s secondary should shut down Minnesota’s average wide receivers which brings us to Adrian Peterson.  I think a lot of people will be on Peterson this week because he is the obvious fantasy stud and he will get most of the touches.  Add to that he complained about his lack of us the last time these two teams played, so he could see more usage.

So why am I fading Peterson?  It is still the Seattle defense that is solid against the run.  Could I see AP getting a TD?  Yes, but I could also see the Vikings using Asiata or McKinnon down in the red zone.  At his price of $7,300 of DraftKings and $8,600 of FanDuel, that just way to expensive for my blood when there are cheaper options that will allow me to spend up at WR.  The wide receivers this week should provide a higher floor, so you know what you are going to get this week.
Packers vs Redskins

This game should be the highest scoring of the week, which is great for us fantasy players.  I like a lot of the Redskin players this week

Kirk Cousins has been playing lights out , throwing for over 300 yards in 4 of his last 6 games and 4 out of 5 were home games.  Here is another home game against a struggling Green Bay team that is without James Shields again.  Cousins price is great on DraftKings $5,900 , but a little pricey on Yahoo and FanDuel ($8,000).

The other guys I like from Washington are Jackson, Garcon and Reed.  For cash games like 505/50 and H2H I like Garcon and Reed.  They have been giving consistent double digit production and will provide you with a nice high floor, much like Eric Decker has all year long.

Jackson is a little more risky, so he makes a great GPP selection because of his high upside.  I expect him to beat the Packers deep at least once and bring us a DFS championship… OK or at least win us some money.

Im fading most of Packers this week because they have been so unreliable the last few weeks. I will use James Jones in a few GPP lineups and on Yahoo DFS because of this price.  Jones has been Aaron Rodgers favorite target the last few weeks, seeing 11 and 13 targets the last two weeks.

If you are looking for contrarian plays for you GPP games, Aaron Rodgers and the Packers should be lightly owned.

Good luck in your games this week, hopefully you all win some money and that I was able to help!  Feel free to follow us on Twitter, Google + and Facebook by clicking on the icons below.
