FanDuel & DraftKings DFS NHL Hockey Lineup Advice March 12th 2016

Fantasy Hockey

As I do in every post, I will give you analysis on some of the better matchups that you can exploit. While matchups play a bit role in daily fantasy hockey there are plenty of other factors to consider such as injuries, salaries, etc.

My analysis should point you in the right direction, but because hockey is an extremely high variance sport, it is still up to you to process the information and make your own selections.

Note: As always, if you want to try a new DFS site, be sure to click through our Lockdown Corner link and use our DraftKings promo code and FanDuel promo code to receive the best perks in the industry.

Its another busy Saturday in the NHL with 12 games on the schedule. We will cover the nine games on the main slate starting at 7:00 pm et. in this article and provide picks for the those games only.

If you have any questions throughout the day be sure to join the conversation in the comments section below or see us on Twitter @lockdowncorner3 or on Google. Do forget to check your lineups and make sure your goaltender is playing.

Goalies
Cam Talbot FD $8,300 DK $7,100
Jonathan Quick
FD $8,600 DK $8,400
Both of these guys have great matchups and have been playing great hockey.  Talbot has a 920 save % on the season and has been hot lately winning five of his last six starts. In those game he has only allowed more than 1 goal once.  Tonight he faces the Coyotes who have been struggling, but are coming of a win last night so they should have some tired legs.

Quick and the Kings are a big favorite tonight and the Devils also are playing back to back games. The Devils played well last nigh beating the Sharks, but they will be facing a hot Kings team that is 6-2 over the last 8 games and allows the fewest shots on net.  Ironically the Devils are near the bottom in shots on net.

Centers
Connor McDavid FD $7,100 DK$7,100
Zack Smith DK $4,100

McDavid has a great matchup at home against the Coyotes.  The Oilers rookie  has 23 points in the last 20 games and is facing goalie Mike Smith whohas .901 save % and a 3.01 GA.  Another plus is the Oiler have changed up the lines during their last game where Taylor Hall ended up on his line.
Zack Smith his probably the best value of the day going by Salary Cap Crusher.  Not only has be red hot, but he get a great matchup against the Leafs tonight.  Smith has a great floor for cash games because he has been averaging 2.5 shots a game over his last 7 games.

Notables: Mark Scheifele FD $7,100 DK $5,700, Alex Galchenyuk FD $5,900

Forwards
Craig Smith DK $4,800
Mark Stone FD $6,000 DK $5,900

Smith and the Predators have been playing some great hockey.  Smith has had 5 goals and 6 assists in his last 10 games.   He and his line mates, Forsberg and Ribeiro have been the teams hottest line and also play on the team’s  top PP unit.

Mark Stone and line mate Zack Smith have been lighting the lamp even though the team struggles.  Stone has at least one goal or assist in each of the last 4 games.
Notables: Taylor Hall DK $6,700, Jonathan Huberdeau FD $6,200

Defense
Alex Markov FD $4,400 DK $4,900
Morgan Reilly FD $3,400 DK $4,500

With the injury to P.K. Subban, Markov will take charge of the top defensive line.  He has 10 assists in his last 10 games so at his salary, he is a great value at defense tonight.

Reilly is another value play if you need salary relief.  He has been playing good hockey as of late scoring a goal and an assist of 6 shots in the last two games.  He also plays on the Leafs top power play unit and is facing the Senators who sports one of the worst power play kill percentage with 77.3%.

Noteables: Andrej Sekera FD $ 3,900, Drew Doughty FD $6,300

FanDuel & DraftKings DFS NHL Hockey Lineup Advice February 20th 2016

Fantasy Hockey

Another week of  FanDuel DFS NHL in the books and we have a big slate of games for today, February 20th 2016. Lets look at some 50/50 and GPP lineup player picks and do a quick  summary of last nights lineup’s results.
NOTE: If you have any questions about your DFS lineup or want to discuss today’s fantasy contests, hit me up @lockdowncorner3 and leave your questions there.

Results for February 19th 2016 from my FanDuel DFS NHL 50/50 Lineup

My February 19th 50/50 lineup included left wingers Evander Kane and Brayden Schenn, right wingers Nestral and Simmons, centers Joe Thornton and Dubinski, defensemen Shayne Gostisbehere and Marc-Edouard Vlasic and goaltender Halak.

Yesterday’s lineup performed very well.  Halak was the shinning start scoring 10.4 fpts not only getting the win, but the shutout as well.  Shayne Gostisbehere kept his historic point streak alive bringing it to 14 games. He will be in my lineup again as he has a great matchup against the Maple Leafs today.  My value play also Nestrasil scored 4 fpts.

Ok, now lets get to some of my 50/50 and GPP lineup picks for your FanDuel and DraftKings lineups tonight.
GOALIES:

Braden Holtby (FD – $9,700 DK – $8,600) has been playing very well, especially at home where he has a record of 18-2-1.  Holtby has eight wins in his past ten games and has an 8-3-1 career record against the Devils.  Also the Devils are playing a back to back game and do not score very much so the possibility of a shutout could bring additional bonus points.

Petr Mrazek (FD – $9,300 DK – $7,700)

He is coming off back to back starts where he allowed five goals in both. I think this will provide him with low ownership in GPP games and is one of the cheaper starting goalies on DraftKings today. He has played very well for the Red Wings this year with a 22-11-5 record and .927 save percentage. He beaten the Senators twice this year allowing about 2 goals per game.

Players to Consider:  Brian Elliot

LEFT WINGERS:

Brayden Schenn (FD – $6,300 DK – $4,800)

Schenn has 5 goals and 3 assists in his last 10 games.  Today he gets a great matchup against the Maple Leafs and Ondrej Pavelec who has a .905 save percentage.

Henrik Zetterberg (FD – $6,700 DK – $5,600)

Zetterberghas been hot lately scoring a goal or an assist in 7 of the last 10 games so he has been very consistent.  He plays on Detroit’s first line and their top PP line, both alongside Pavel Datsyuk who has been on a tear lately.

Players to Consider: Jaden Schwartz ($6,000)
RIGHT WINGERS:

Justin Abdelkader (FD – $4.900 DK – $4.800)

Abdelkader is a great value play skating on both the Red Wings top line and the top PP unit with both Pavel Datsyuk and Henrik Zetterberg. He has picked up 9 points in his last 10 games with 27 shots and 13 PIMs.

Jordan Eberle ($6.600 FD $5,900 DK)

Since the return of Conner McDavid, Eberle’s fantasy value has taken off.  He has 7 goals and 5 assists in the last 10 games.  Tonight he has a good match against the Avalanche and backup goalie Calvin Pickard who has a 2.75 GA and a .917 save percentage.

CENTERS:
Pavel Datsyuk ($6,900 FD $6,200 DK)

The Red Wings had a tough few games losing 2 of the last 3 giving up 5 goals in each of the last two games.  This has not stopped the offense though.  Datsyuk has been playing well with points in each of the last 7 games.

Todnight they face the Senators who struggle defensively giving up the most shots on goal in the league. With their 74% penalty kill Datsyuk should take advantage of this matchup.

Brayden Scheen ($6,300 FD $4,800 DK)

Fantasy Hockey

Last night was a great daily fantasy hockey night, with Shane Doan killing it and Nestrasil putting up a nice game for his low price tag on Fanduel and DraftKings.   My winning NHL lineup on FanDuel was 42.9 and on DraftKings 46.6 fantasy points.  Tonight we have 8 games to choose from so it should be a fun night of NHL DFS Hockey, so lets get started!

Goalies

Ryan Miller (FD $81,00 DK $7,200)  gets those dreadful Maple Leafs we  talked about. Although he isn’t getting much support, he has yet to yield more than 2 goals in his 4 outings. Not many people will be on him but he’s also in a great spot.

Martin Jones (FD $81,00 DK $7,200) has a good match up tonight with the Coyotes coming to town.  Arizona doesn’t  take many shots on the road this season and averages 2.62 GP, but only 2 GP on the road.

Fantasy Hockey

Last night’s FanDuel lineups all cashed in thanks in part to some good performances by Kesler 6.7 fpts who I chose instead of Getzlaf, and my value pick on defense Lindholm, 6.8 fpts.  My stud Gaudreau did not live up to his price.  For those of you who are new to daily fantasy hockey or need a refresher, check out our article on how to win money at daily fantasy hockey advice

Tonight we go back to a larger slate of games, so we will have more options to choose from, so lets get started.

FanDuel DFS NHL February 6th 2016 50/50 Lineup

Right Wing Picks

Patric Hornqvist ($6,100) Sidney Crosby has been very hot lately, but now that he is playing on his line, Hornqvist has been putting up some good fantasy numbers. He has points in three straight games, including one goal and three assists. The Panthers are likely to be without defenseman Erik Gudbranson which should mean a better matchup for Hornqvist around the net.  He plays on Pittsburgh’s top line with Crosby and Chris Kunitz and since Evgeni Malkin is out, he is back on the team’s top power-play unit with an injury.

Reilly Smith ($4,700) has been in my lineups on a regular basis as of late.  With his low price, he has provided salary cap relief many times this year and been worth his price. Smith four goals and four assists in the last 6 games.. Smith plays on Florida’s second line and top power-play unit and is worth his $4,700price tag.

Fantasy Hockey

Last night’s FanDuel lineups all cashed in thanks in part to some good performances by Lehner 7.5 fpts, Kutcherov 6.8 fpts, Muzzin 6.6, and one of my value picks, Lecavalier 4.9 fpts.  My Carolina players, not so much.  For those of you who are new to daily fantasy hockey or need a refresher, check out our article on how to win money at daily fantasy hockey advice

Tonight we go back to a larger slate of games, so we will have more options to choose from, so lets get started.

FanDuel DFS NHL February 4th 2016 50/50 Lineup

Left Wing Picks

Jonathan Huberdeau ($6,700) along with linemates Aleksander Barkov and Jaromir Jagr, have been one of the best lines in the league over the past few months. Huberdeau scored two goals and an assist against the Capitals on Tuesday. Huberdeau plays on Florida’s top line and top power-play unit, so he sees plenty of ice time.  Andre Burakovsky ($4,700)  has moved up to the Capitals’ second line and has done very well playing with new linemates Evgeny Kuznetsov and Justin Williams. Burakovsky has goals in three straight games. He plays on Washington’s second line and second power-play unit.  Daniel Sedin ($8.000) gets a great matchup against Columbus who will be starting Joonas Korpisalo in net tonight who has a save percentage of .919.  Another guy to consider tonight is Mike Hoffman ($6,000) who has a goal and 2 assists in his last 3 games.

FanDuel Daily Fantasy Hockey Lineups GPP and 50/50

Fantasy Hockey

Check out our FanDuel DFS fantasy hockey daily picks and lineup suggestions for Tuesday, January 19th

Tuesday January 19th should be an great night of hockey with eight games to choose from. That means 16 teams full of fantasy hockey options on FanDuel.  We break down some of the best players to put in your FanDuel lineups. Make sure your fantasy lineup is set because the first game starts at 7:00 PM EST..

The Toronto Maple Leafs and Philadelphia Flyers face off in what should be a good fantasy night for the Flyers. The Flyers have won five of their last six and have won 6 of their last ten games. Meanwhile Toronto has lost five in a row.

The Washington Capitals play the Columbus Blue Jackets in another game that should a blow out for the Caps. The Capitals have won seven of their last ten games while Columbus is just four of their last ten. The game that should also be lopsided is the one between the Edmonton Oilers and Tampa Bay Lightning.  Be sure to include some Lightning players in your lineup along with some Caps players.

Daily Fantasy Hockey – FanDuel & DraftKings Player Advice

Fantasy Hockey

DraftKings Fantasy HockeyHope everybody’s Valentine’s Day Games went well, and you won some money on FanDuel and DraftKings.  Today we have a small slate of games so options will be limited.  Im looking to target players from the Flyers , Blues, and Ducks Anaheim Ducks.

The Flyers have a great matchup in Buffalo tonight.  A team that lets up the most goals per game.

The Blues have been really hot lately, they are 12-2-1 in their last 15 games.  They have a high powered offense and some good top lines.

Anaheim should be well rested, since they haven’t played since Thursday.  Today they host the Washington Capitals who will be playing their second game in less than 24 hours..  The Ducks, like the Blues have also been hot, especially at home where they are 19-6-1.

Here are some good fantasy plays on FanDuel and DraftKings:

C Claude Giroux Philadelphia Flyers at Buffalo Sabres

Great matchup, playing the Buffalo Sabres.  Enough Said.

W Jakub Voracek, Philadelphia Flyers at Buffalo Sabres
Voracek has been playing well and has a great matchup today.  I like his price and production on both FanDuel and DraftKings.

Draft some Flyers for your daily fantasy hockey team today. Spend up for Giroux and Voracek. Buffalo allows over 3.4 goals per game, which is the most in the league

Daily Fantasy Hockey: NHL DraftKings Strategy – Player Value Picks

Fantasy Hockey

Todays quick DraftKingsValue picks should be interesting.  I listed a number of mid priced value players as part of my DraftKings Lineup strategy.

Want to play along with us and test your skill?

– $2 entry fee (FREE with first deposit)

– Salary Cap Style Drafting. $50,000 to select 9 spots. 8 players and 1 goalie.

– Roster Format: 2 C, 3 W, 2 D, 1 G and 1 Util.

– First time depositors at DraftKings receive a 100% bonus up to $600

I listed players in order of perceived value, by position, and there should be enough to mix-and-match for each type of game available on Draft Kings. I put a few guys from each position thatI found valuable.  Some positions may have 2 guys list others can have more, it all depends on the the matchups, and the expected productions for the price.

Remember: players are in order of value, not necessarily in cost. Just because Sidney Crosby is $8000 one day doesn’t mean he’s a better value than Tomas Tatar at $4600.

Cash Games

Centre Wing Defense Goalie
Pavel Datsyuk (DET) -$5100 Tomas Tatar (DET) – $4600 John Klingberg (DAL) – $4900 Petr Mrazek(DET) – $7600
Jason Spezza (DAL) $5600 Nick Foligno(CLS) – $5100 Jack Johnson (CLS) – $4400
Jamie Benn( DAL) – $8300Mike Hoffman (OTT) – $4,300

  • Don’t be by KARI LEHTONEN and put him in your lineups tonight. Im sure he will be highly-owned, because of the matchup, but I think you should pass on him even though the price is good.
  • Im not excited about any Islanders, Rangers, Bruins or Devils tonight either.

Good Luck and check us out at LockdownCorner.com
